The Nexus platform was dedicated to bringing together individuals to cultivate meaningful connections and showcase their talents and innovative creations. The event aimed to open the minds of creative young individuals while introducing a new art form to the space, specifically the Retro craft, utilizing minimal materials such as nails and threads to add personality to the domain.
Hosted by the Hindu College of Design, Architecture, and Planning in Sonipat, the event took place on Sunday, 3rd September. It gathered 90 students from various renowned institutions such as Z125 Gateway College of Architecture and Design, Z143 World University of Design, Z147 Hindu College of Design, Architecture, and Planning, Z151 State Institute of Urban Planning and Architecture, and Z161 Ganga Institute of Architecture and Town Planning.
Students were given the opportunity to select their working space and commence their designs on a medium of their choice. Elaborate designs were created using nails and threads, in addition to employing geometric shapes, points, and colored string.
The conclusion segment involved expressing gratitude to the attendees for their active participation and encouraging them to continue exploring their creativity. The judging criteria were based on the amount of space used and the perception and clarity of the design.
Overall, the event successfully concluded with an emphasis on fostering creativity and innovation among the participating students through the unique utilization of nails and threads in their craft.
REDESIGNING THE SPACES THAT MAKE US

"Redesigning the Spaces that Make Us" was held on the 9th of September 2023 at the Gateway College of Architecture and Design, Sonepat. Moderated by Ms. Sukanya Sharma from the host college, the event aimed to engage participants in a day-long exploration of architectural redesign for various spaces within an architectural institute.
The working brief of the event was structured to foster an interactive and engaging session where students proposed architectural redesigns for spaces such as classrooms, design studios, and the O.A.T. The objective was to encourage participants to visualize and estimate these spaces beyond specific design constraints.
Running from 10 am to 6 pm, the event comprised two components. The first involved a brief Q&A session about the spatial dimensions of the designated areas, promoting interaction among students and providing an opportunity to form inter-college bonds. Those who provided the most correct answers gained an advantage on the points table.
The main highlight, the second component, involved the redesign of spaces, allowing students to materialize their imaginative concepts onto sheets, showcasing their creativity using any medium or mode of presentation. The top 5 entries were rewarded after the submission of designs
With a mandate for 10 students per participating college and a minimum attendance requirement of 40, the event was open to other colleges in the area. Participating units included Z125 Gateway College of Architecture and Design, Z143 World University of Design, Z141 Jindal School of Art and Architecture, and Z147 Hindu College of Design, Architecture, and Planning.
This comprehensive event was aimed at inspiring innovative design thinking among students and fostering collaborative interaction among architectural institutions.
PAWP ART
24th September 2023 | University School Of Planning and Architecture, GGSIPU - Z133/ Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women - Z177
"Pawp Art" was organized by the Unit council of Z-177 (Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women) and Z-133 (University School of Architecture and Planning). The event included a visit to a shelter for strays, allowing students to engage in social work and propose design interventions for animal-friendly spaces.
The event schedule included:
Icebreaker Event:
Students played Pictionary to introduce themselves and engage in architecture-themed discussions.
Mural Painting on NGO Walls:
Students painted murals at an NGO housing over 15 rescued dogs, enhancing the environment with their art.
Design Competition for Street Shelters:
Teams designed innovative shelters for strays to raise public awareness about animal shelters.
The event, held from 11 A.M. to 4 P.M., was in collaboration with Royal Happy Pooches, a rescue shelter in Noida. Participating units included Z-177, Z-133, Z-122 (Amity School of Architecture and Planning, Noida), and Z-129 (MBS School of Planning and Architecture), with 10 students from each college, totaling 40 participants.
The event aimed to showcase students' passion for art and animals while fostering teamwork and collaboration among peers from diverse units.
SAIR-E-GULZAAR

The event, organized by the Unit council of Z-129 (MBS School of Planning and Architecture), focused on exploring and designing open spaces. The main theme was landscape design's objective of creating a 'place' to enhance productivity, utility, and aesthetics, using elements like trees, shrubs, sculptures, and water features. A balance between hardscape and softscape elements, as well as effective pedestrian and vehicular circulation, was emphasized. The Garden of Five Senses in Saket served as a model for participants to learn design principles during a guided tour.
The event sequence included:
A nature-themed trivia game engaging teams to answer plant-based questions.
A guided tour of The Garden, explaining landscape design principles.
A task for students to redesign an under-utilized space in three hours, applying tour insights.
Running from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M., the event was moderated by Ar. Kriteeka Sharma from MBS School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi. Participants included Nexus Chapter-3, Z-129: MBS School of Planning and Architecture (Host Unit), Z-101: School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi, and other institutions, with each college represented by 10 students and an expected attendance of 60 participants.
DICHOTOMY OF SPACES

The event, expertly moderated by Ar. Deepika Gandhi, formerly an Associate Professor at CCA, Chandigarh, was attended by over 100 students. It focused on exploring Chandigarh's spaces, particularly the sector 17 plaza, designed by Le Corbusier, which has lost its historical charm. The event included a guided walk to understand Le Corbusier's urban planning concepts and concluded with discussions on the plaza's transformation. Students were organized into teams to generate innovative redesign ideas for Sector 17 plaza and its surroundings.
Activities included:
An icebreaker at Neelam Plaza with a sketch and scavenger hunt.
A guided walk around Sector 17.
Discussions on the plaza's past and present state to propose rejuvenation strategies.
Group activities addressing design problems and brainstorming ideas for the plaza's revival.
The event offered students a platform to engage with Chandigarh's urban spaces, analyzing their evolution and contemplating innovative revival ideas.
ARCH WALI DIWALI
5th November 2023 | MBM University - Z104
On Sunday, 5th November 2023, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, the Department of Architecture and Town Planning at M.B.M. University, Jodhpur, hosted an event organized by Z104 M.B.M. University. Over 100 students participated in creative and cultural activities. The event began with a welcome session, organizing students into groups. Activities included Rangoli Making and Diya Decoration from 2:00 to 3:30 PM, showcasing creativity with flowers and diya designs, and fun games like Architectural bingo and sketch relay. A special band performance featured original songs by the department's band. The event concluded with the lighting of decorated diyas, symbolizing hope and marking the start of the Diwali break.
