ECZC 1: Inaugural Leadership Dialogue of the 66th Year – Building Foundations, Bridging Visions

The first EC–ZC (Executive Council – Zonal Council) meeting of NASA India’s 66th year was successfully conducted online from the 28th to 30th of June, 2023. The virtual gathering served as a crucial platform to initiate meaningful dialogue and collaboration between the national and zonal leadership.
The meeting witnessed active participation from the newly elected Executive Council, five Zonal Presidents, one Acting Zonal President, representatives from Zone 2, and the National Advisor. It marked the beginning of a collaborative journey aimed at fostering clarity, alignment, and structure in the functioning of NASA India.
Welcoming the New Council
The National Secretary formally welcomed all newly elected council members. The session began with an introductory presentation on the structure and functions of NASA India, followed by an interactive Q&A, setting the tone for open communication throughout the meet.
Key Highlights of ECZC 1:
Organizational Clarity: A detailed review of the association’s core documents was conducted to ensure preparedness for the year ahead. This included an in-depth discussion on the Articles of the Constitution and proposals for updates to strengthen internal governance.
Financial Transparency & Security: The council discussed updates in financial operations and introduced an improved digital security system for financial handling, emphasizing accountability and secure management.
Defined Responsibilities: Clarifications regarding the job roles and expectations of Executive Council members were presented to ensure a clear understanding of responsibilities and collaborative functioning.
Legal Framework & Documentation: The team reviewed legal documents carried forward by the previous council. Matters relating to the HQ, volunteer selection process, and documentation compliance were discussed thoroughly.
Strategic Presentations: The council presented the MoU with Catabatic and discussed affiliations such as the FCRA and Niti Aayog’s NGO Darpan portal. A presentation of the certificate of registration and 12A documents was also made.
Future Planning & Vision: A brainstorming session on NASA India's internal functioning led to constructive feedback and suggestions. The council reviewed existing collaborations and proposed ideas for publications and trophies for the year.
Zonal Contributions & Programs: Zonal Presidents provided inputs on NASA Day celebrations and other upcoming programs. Public Relations also initiated discussions on OAN content, the GBRI scholarship program, and its selection process.
Addressing Challenges: The drawbacks from the previous year were openly discussed, followed by suggestions to implement a more efficient functional order moving forward.
Digital Transformation: New initiatives focused on digitalizing internal resources were introduced, aiming to enhance communication and member engagement across all zones.
A Collaborative Step Forward
ECZC 1 proved to be more than just a formal meeting — it was a space for collective visioning, open dialogue, and strategic planning. The virtual setting did not limit the enthusiasm and participation of council members. Instead, it set the foundation for a cohesive and productive year ahead.
This inaugural meet enabled the newly elected council to gain clarity, confidence, and direction in their roles while fostering stronger connections across zones. It reinforced NASA India’s commitment to transparency, inclusion, and innovation in the pursuit of empowering architectural students across the nation.
