NASA India Exhibition - Zone 5

The NASA India Exhibition - Zone 5, was a two-day event hosted by Z504, BMS College Of Architecture, Design and Planning “Architecture Under Pressure.”

This exhibition created an open space where architects, students and alumni interacted and learned. Along with Nexus events, workshops, keynote speaker and panel discussion, performances by various clubs and stalls added to the enthusiastic energy.

NASA India Exhibition | Day 1

Date: 27/03/2026Day 1 of the event began with great enthusiasm and a strong intent for learning. The day started with an exhibition by various firms held from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, showcasing diverse works and ideas. This was accompanied by the inauguration ceremony and a special talk that set the tone for the event. Later, an enriching session titled the “Creative Toolkit Workshop” was conducted, focusing on exploring new approaches in design.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the director with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a talk on the exhibition. The exhibition featured works from various architectural firms, including Gensler, Kham Design, Cadence Design Systems, SHD Group, and Studio Camaranda. It provided an opportunity to explore a wide range of projects, design approaches, and professional practices. The displayed works reflected diverse styles and concepts, giving students insight into real-world architectural applications and current industry trends.

Inauguration The proceedings commenced with a formal inauguration by Director Vidhya Srikanth and esteemed delegates from NASA India. The event was formally marked open by the director through the unveiling of the poster and ribbon cutting, and a formal photo session followed by an opening performance by the college's dance troupe.

Special talk -

The special talk by Sriram Ramakrishnan, Principal Architect of FHD Group, delivered a technical discourse focusing on the vital integration of human ergonomics, occupant comfort, and climatic responsiveness. His lecture underscored the necessity of designing spaces that prioritize both physiological needs and environmental sustainability. The event served as a bridge between professional practice and academic inquiry. The event was formally concluded with a vote of thanks.

Creative toolkit workshop -

The Creative Toolkit Workshop was an innovative session which promoted students to engage in creative thinking and broadened their perspective on the integration of modern technology with architecture. The workshop was conducted by Ar. Rakshith Raj, where he shared insights on using new tools and approaches in the design process.

The session aimed to familiarize participants with advanced tools and techniques that could transform the design process, making it more intuitive and impactful.

NASA India Exhibition | Day 2

Date: 28/03/2026

The second day of the Nasa event started at 11.00 AM, continuing the excitement and momentum from Day 1, the morning of Day 2 started with workshops, hands on learning, and full of inspiration from Day 1, panels were displayed from various colleges taking part and there was a series of student-led workshop stalls, which encouraged creativity and hands-on participation, followed by panel discussion and a fun and interactive standup comedy - a fun and relaxing way to end the overall session.

The student exhibition organized under NASA India featured participation from 17 colleges, each presenting 28 curated sheets across semesters, fostering academic exchange, peer learning, and a platform for comparative understanding of diverse design approaches.

Workshop: Lippan Art Hands-on Session

The day began with an Hands-on on session on Lippan art (Also known as mud and mirror work), this is a traditional mural craft from the Kutch region of Gujarat,  the traditional method involves using a mixture of clay and camel dung to create intricate patterns, which are the embedded with mirrors, students explored and transformed a simple MDF board into a polished heritage piece. With impressive precision and expressing a deep sense of accomplishment, they blended vibrant colors, relief textures, and light-catching mirrors into a handcrafted masterpiece that showcased both their skills and dedication to a piece of art

Panel Discussion: Architecture under pressure

The session was moderated by our former Unit Secretary-Yashita Sarvanan, where the session started off with a very relatable discussion which led to analysis of what teaching methods which were effective relating to the past present and future methods followed by intricate questions on AI and the future of Architecture and their opinion shared if the pressure is good or bad, at the end we had a questionnaire with students who addressed their thoughts

Awards & Recognition

Recognition of the exceptional design talent competition showcased throughout the exhibition were all the zone 5 Colleges had Pinned Up for the competition. The award for the Best Sheets Pinned up for the competition where 1^st prize citation won by UVCE and the 2^nd  prize is special mentions was won by RV College of Architecture (RVCA).

A formal closing session of the academic enthusiastic segment of the exhibition, expressing gratitude to the hosts and resource persons, participating colleges and Architectural firms.

The standup comedy was themed under the topic ‘Mental health and Wellbeing’, a very relaxing session, a nice unwinding and an interactive session filled with laughter and a fun way to conclude the exhibition.

Informal Events

The informal segment of the fest brought a vibrant and interactive energy to the campus, making it one of the most engaging parts of the celebration. A major highlight was the series of student-led workshop stalls, which encouraged creativity and hands-on participation. Activities such as fluid art, resin art, clay art, caricature making, beads and charm crafting, and ink and trinket design attracted enthusiastic crowds throughout the day. These stalls not only showcased student talent but also created a space for visitors to explore and experiment with different art forms.Adding to the lively atmosphere were the club performances that kept the audience entertained. The Music Club hosted an open jamming session, creating a relaxed and inclusive vibe where students connected through music. The Dance Club - team mayday energized the crowd with a dynamic street dance performance, drawing cheers and applause. Meanwhile, the Theatre Club - team rasashilpigalu presented a powerful mime act centered on the theme “Architecture Under Pressure,” delivering a thought-provoking message through expressive performance.
