The 67th Year First General Body Meet (FGBM) of NASA India was held from 19th to 21st July 2024 at GITAM, Deemed to be University, Vishakhapatnam. The event brought together students, council members, and advisors for crucial discussions on the association’s future, new initiatives, and reflections on past achievements.

With insightful sessions, collaborative workshops, and important policy decisions, the 67th FGBM proved to be a milestone in shaping the direction of NASA India for the upcoming year.

Day 1: Inauguration, Networking, and Workshops

The FGBM commenced with an inaugural session by Ar. Pravin Kumar Botu, Deputy Director at GITAM School of Architecture. Soon after, National Advisor Hari S. introduced the 67th Year Zonal Council and Executive Council.

The National President, Evanthika Pereira, unveiled Times of NASA India, a comprehensive publication documenting the milestones of the 66th year. A speed networking workshop, led by the National Secretary, encouraged delegates to engage with peers across zones.

The day concluded with soft-skill workshops conducted by the Zonal and Executive Council, covering areas such as Human Resource Management, Business Management, and Marketing.

Day 2: Membership Bids, Programs, and Budget

The second day opened with presentations from colleges bidding for membership. Out of the four colleges that applied, three were successfully granted membership.

Later, the focus shifted to programs. Programs Head Nityanshu Panda discussed upcoming initiatives, including LIK Program, Insider, and Online Programs. With positive feedback from the first round of online workshops, a second round was announced, alongside collaborations with the Auroville Earth Institute for a 6-day curated program.

In the evening, the 67th Year Budget was presented by National Treasurer Shikha Kamad. The proposed increment of subscription fees by INR 50 per student was thoroughly discussed and approved after a voting session, marking a significant decision for the 68th year.

Day 3: Trophies, Research, and Future Goals

The final day focused on NASA India’s most celebrated recognitions — the Reubens Trophy. After discussions and a poll, the council decided that Reubens will remain a trophy and not just an exhibition, affirming its legacy.

A new Short Film Trophy was also introduced, with Ar. Rohan Shivkumar moderating the discussion.

Later, a major initiative, the NASA India Research Conference (NIRC), was launched. Moderated by Ar. Bijoy Ramachandran, NIRC aims to provide a platform for students to present research-based contributions to architecture.

The day ended with a keynote by Dr. Vibhuti Sachdev, Dean at GITAM School of Architecture, who inspired delegates with thoughts on leadership and the theme of the year.
