The 2016 Zone 4 – Zonal NASA Convention was on the horizon. Like every year, the zonal meet was set up in one of the cities — this time, Bareilly was our destination, and Invertis University would be our home for the next four days.
Everyone packed their bags and rolled toward the station; it felt like a platform of hopes waiting for the train that would take us to the next big thing of the year. The outrageously heated sun could not break the spirits of the students — everything felt a little different. The train journey seemed never-ending, but every one of us had a goal: to give our best, to bring something home for the college.
After hours of sweltering travel, we finally reached Bareilly. The sight of other colleges and their teammates sparked a healthy sense of competition. There was no time to rest — we were already gearing up for the evening showdown. Flags were raised high, slogans shouted, and spirits soared as we gathered for the opening ceremony. The atmosphere was electric, and for the first time, we experienced what a NASA night truly felt like.
Meetings went on late into the night as we discussed strategies and divided responsibilities. Sleepless nights became the norm, but the excitement didn’t fade. By morning, we were ready to take on formal, informal, and fun events, as well as workshops designed to push us out of our comfort zones.
With limited teammates and back-to-back competitions, everyone had to step up. Tired yet determined, we returned to the hostels every night, eager to hear results and share stories of what we learned. Cultural evenings added color and joy, with performances that left us in awe.
By the third day, the scorching heat could no longer deter us. Prize distribution brought screams of happiness as trophies rose high and our team’s hard work paid off. There was nothing more powerful than seeing the joy on everyone’s faces as we celebrated our wins.
On the fourth day, it was time to leave. It was hard to say goodbye to a place and a set of experiences that had given us so much. Those three days of exhaustion, adrenaline, and camaraderie changed us, bringing us closer as teammates and as friends.
NASA 2K16 was a lifetime experience — a battleground that pushed us to our limits and taught us the power of teamwork, unity, and persistence. We left Bareilly with pride, knowing we had grown as individuals and as a college, and we look forward to reuniting with the NASA family once again.
