Collaborators Details
NASA India, in collaboration with CP Kukreja Architects, curated an exclusive programme for 30 shortlisted students representing zones across India. The initiative aimed to bridge academic learning with professional practice by engaging participants in the architectural, ecological, and cultural legacy of one of India’s most celebrated masterplans, while also providing insights into contemporary practice.
Highlights of the Program
1. Exhibition Walkthrough: The Masterplan
Participants began with a guided walkthrough of The Masterplan exhibition, led by Dikshu C. Kukreja. The exhibition showcased original drawings, archival material, and models from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus design. The vision of C.P. Kukreja was highlighted, a campus conceived as a self-sustaining village, ecologically integrated with the Aravallis, with knowledge and community at its core.
2. Office Tour & Interactions
Students explored the multidisciplinary workings of the practice through an office tour. The architectural, interior design, and structural engineering teams shared their collaborative methods, emphasizing how diverse voices, from experts to practitioners as unexpected as firefighters can contribute to meaningful design outcomes.
3. Visual Showcase
A presentation of the firm’s completed and upcoming projects offered participants a comprehensive view of CP Kukreja Architects’ design philosophy. Balancing heritage and modernity, and ecological responsibility with urban ambition, the showcase reflected the practice’s impact on India’s built environment.
4. Engagement & Closure
The day concluded with refreshments and open interaction, where students captured memories through photographs and videos, reinforcing a spirit of inclusivity and professional exchange.

Key Takeaway
The program underscored architecture not merely as a discipline of building, but as a collaborative, ecological, and cultural practice that shapes society at multiple levels. Through the study of CP Kukreja’s JNU masterplan and the interactive sessions with professionals, participants witnessed how architecture responds to climate, land, and community needs while creating meaningful spaces for learning and dialogue.
The program reaffirmed NASA India’s commitment to providing platforms that bridge academia and practice, enabling young architects to engage with real-world challenges, understand the responsibilities of design towards ecology and culture, and emerge as sensitive professionals equipped to shape the future of the built environment.
